My grandmother survived the Great Depression by hand-tying flies and selling them to the sportsmen of Chicago.
She sold thousands of flies over the years but kept some of her favorites for my grandfather. Those same flies, carefully crafted nearly a century ago by my grandmother's own hands, were handed down to me.
I am releasing a small selection to our customers who appreciate fine craftsmanship — and more importantly — the sacrifice and grit of our Greatest Generation.
I know my grandparents would be humbled that my grandmother’s hard work lives on nearly a century after her hands and the world conspired to bring these joyful works of art into an otherwise dreary Depression-era America.
